FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
What is FCA?
Fellowship of Christian Athletes is a ministry with a simple mission: to lead every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His church.
We believe that coaches and athletes hold unique influence in schools and communities, and that when they live boldly for Christ, their impact ripples far beyond the locker room.
Who is FCA for?
FCA is designed for coaches and athletes.
That doesn’t mean others aren’t welcome, everyone is invited and included at huddles, camps, and events. But our focus, our language, and our approach are shaped through the lens of sports. That’s the lane God has given us, and it’s where we can be most effective.
Why coaches and athletes?
Sports culture already values things like teamwork, discipline, humility, perseverance, and sacrifice. FCA builds on those shared values and points them toward faith in Jesus Christ.
Because athletes and coaches are natural leaders in their schools, their faith has the potential to influence not just their teams, but entire communities.
How does FCA do ministry?
Huddles - Small groups on campuses and teams where students and coaches gather for fellowship and discipleship.
Events - Camps, leadership summits, and community gatherings that go deeper in faith and connection.
Relationships - E3 discipleship (Engage, Equip, Empower), always pointing back to the local church.
Is FCA really open to everyone?
Yes! Anyone can attend a huddle or an event, and everyone will be welcomed.
At the same time, our primary lens is athletics. Some students will connect deeply with this approach, while others may resonate more with a different ministry or youth group. That’s a good thing, God uses many ministries to reach many kinds of people. Our role is to stay faithful to the audience we’re called to serve.
What happens if FCA tries to be everything for everyone?
We risk losing the identity God gave us. FCA’s strength is in its focus. If we try to be everything to everyone, we’ll end up not doing anything well.
That’s why we’re committed to staying aligned with the mission, sharpening our focus on coaches and athletes, and trusting God to multiply the impact.
