God used the sport of basketball to reach me right where I was, saving my life and my soul. Through my walk with God, He has drawn me closer to Him while using sports to reach me. After 16 years of coaching and training in basketball, I want to use the skills God has given me to spread the Gospel and use the platform of sports to reach others how God used it to reach me. Being an athlete teaches us discipline, teamwork, and passion for what we love. These are universal values in competition that are also Biblical values. We can build on that foundation and lead coaches and athletes closer in their relationship with Jesus. Seeing how God has worked in the lives of young athletes at Power Camp made the decision easy for me to join the team!. Sports were my escape at a young age. I used the flow and the creativity of the game of basketball to express myself. To this day, I still play as much basketball as I can and I want to use my body as a living sacrifice to the Lord. FCA allows me to do that with an eternal perspective. My wife (Jessica) and three kids, Isabelle (17), Emmett(10) and Leo (6), share a love for God and sports, supporting me in chasing God’s calling on my life.

Ellie Wilshire
2026 Summer Intern
Ellie is a student athlete at Grove City College. After struggling to figure out how to balance faith and competition during high school, the FCA huddle at Grove City was life changing. There she learned to balance faith and competition by surrendering everything in life to the Lordship of Christ. She loves the community of FCA and surrounding herself with young people who love the Lord, love having fun, and are seeking to honor God through athletics. Ellie is on the leadership team at the Grove City FCA and is the tennis team chaplain. She is looking forward to serving and learning with the Cecil County FCA this summer!
